Debra Searle has achieved more by her mid 30’s than most people would dream of achieving in a lifetime: she has been awarded a first class honors degree, launched two companies, won World Championship medals for GB, presented over 40 programs for the BBC, had two books published, contributed to several other book and successfully, rowed solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 111 days, heading from the Spanish island of Tenerife more than 3.000 miles to Barbados. In 2002 HM The Queen awarded Debra an MBE for her achievements, which means to become a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), and in 2014 she was appointed Member of the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) for her work with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
